Costa Rica Summer Camp (Teens 12 - 17)

This is the best language school my wife and I encountered during three years of research and study in the US, Mexico and Central and South America...the owner's attention and assistance seems to liken them to concierges at a really good hotel. All student wants and needs, from help with long distance calls and faxes, to cashing personal checks, to arranging tours, accommodations, transportation, etc., are taken care of promptly and efficiently." Dan and Zia Telfair

The School
This school is an institute located in Costa Rica which devotes to International Education. They provide Spanish immersion programs in Costa Rica. The programs are highly organized and offer intensive Spanish classes starting every week all year round. The school has developed an excellent reputation by giving personalized attention in a family-like atmosphere.

The summer camp program for high school is designed to prepare participants for college by developing the skills necessary to operate comfortably in international environments and in the Spanish language. The uniqueness in this summer camp lies in the combination of fun activities and educational experiences that will help the participant learn and grow as a person. It is an experience the student will likely never forget. The school has more than eleven years of experience teaching Spanish for foreigners.

Ecology and environment: Students will gain great exposure to the rain forest, its ecosystems and the importance of preserving nature. Participants will visit the main Costa Rican national parks and learn about the efforts Costa Rica has made to protect nature by reserving a larger percentage of its land for parks than any other country on earth.

Government & Politics: Costa Rica is the only country in the world that has had no army since 1949. Students will learn the reasons the army was abolished, the historical basis of Costa Rica's economy, language, and religions, and how other elements of society have evolved.

Culture: Living with a Costa Rican host family will expose students to the customs, social life, family values, religion, and food in Latin America, as well as numerous other aspects of life . Students will visit museums and other interesting cultural places.

Social skills: By interacting with people from varied backgrounds in different situations, students will have an excellent opportunity to develop social and leadership skills. Participants will also be involved in volunteer work.

Motivation for learning a foreign language increases greatly when a person is immersed in the language, and that is exactly what happens during the summer camp. When students return home they will get better grades in their Spanish classes and they will be inspired to continue improving their Spanish skills.

Students will have time to relax, to go shopping, to go to the movies, to see concerts, to visit the zoo and even to attend a party at the U.S. Embassy in San Jose.

Safety of all participants is our number one priority. Students will be accompanied by qualified chaperones during most of the time, who together with host families will guarantee their safety.
