The School
Famous for its rich history, beautiful architecture and cultural diversity, Paris remains one of the most visited cities in the world. Paris has always been a hive of artistic and intellectual activity with its 134 museums, 170 theaters, world famous universities and cultural festivals, which take place all year round. Paris is also of course the capital of fashion and design and internationally renowned for its boutiques, department stores and young designers.
The school was founded in 1988 and is in a typical Parisian building bright with spacious classrooms equipped with audiovisual materials. It is situated in the heart of Paris just a few minutes walk from the Louvre museum, the Opera , Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Georges Pompidou Center, the Marais, and the famous Grands Magasins. It is located on the "Grand Boulevards", just a few minutes walk from the Louvre, the Opera, the George Pompidou Center (Beaubourg) and the famous Grands Magasins. This area of Paris has become famous all over the world as it has been the shooting place for many films and it is an endless source of inspiration for the film making industry.
The summer campus (July and August) takes place in the residence of "Saint Nicolas", where you will have both your accommodation and language classes. This campus is situated in the south of Paris, near the Exhibition Park of Porte de Versailles, less than 5 minutes walk from Aquaboulevard (swimming pool and water leisure center). (Underground station : "Corentin Celton" - line n°12). The campus has 30 classrooms, a cafeteria, a self-service restaurant, a TV-area, a "foyer" (restroom for the students) with large terraces and a fitness center within the residence. The premises offer a large and comfortable cyber cafeteria with computers and free access to Internet!
The main objective of the course is to enable you to transfer communication skills already mastered in your native language to the new language. Oral communication is a priority : learning to listen and understand, to express yourself correctly and with a good pronunciation. The goal is to raise you to an efficient standard of communication which requires not only a perfect command of the language but also a profound understanding of the cultural context.
