The School
Traditionally, the school in Siena offers courses based on the Italian and, above all, Siennese culture. Each course consists of a these that will be explored through lessons in the classroom and guided tours and appointments outside the school.

Siena, with its Gothic facades, is a city of ancient origins and one of the most important Italian cities, from an artistic and cultural point of view. The State Archives is one of the largest and richest collections of antique documents found in Italy, the National Library possesses a beautiful collection of precious illuminated manuscripts, and the Academia chigiana hosts some of the greatest international musical talents. The Sienese traditions have continued unchanged throughout the centuries. The most well-known of these being the Palio, a colorful horse race which takes place in the Piazza del Campo twice a year in honor of the Virgin, when the city and its inhabitants relive four days of celebration in an atmosphere typical of the renaissance.

The institute is located in a magnificently frescoed 17th century palazzo in the heart of the medieval city, and in the beautiful 13th century cloister of San Domenico - both a 10 minute walk from Piazza del Campo. Since the school is a small one, the atmosphere is friendly and informal. The teachers are all graduates and trained in teaching Italian as a foreign language. Every month the school offers a program of social activities: cocktail parties, films, guided museum visits, excursions to famous cities and characteristic sites, conferences and dinners. All students automatically become members of the institute’s Society and enjoy special discounts in various restaurants, museums, shops, etc.

Siena is an ideal location for traveling around the rest of Italy. It is on direct train and bus lines to Florence, Pisa, Rome, Milan, Venice and Sicily. Some of the sites, "must-sees", include The "Crete", Asciano, Monteriggioni, Montalcino, San Gimignano, Chianti, ancient village churches, Pienza and Amiata.
