The School
Maceió is the capital of the state of Alagoas in the northeast of Brazil. It is a relaxed, modern city with the most beautiful and alluring beaches in South America, washed by the warm, clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The sea and lagoon that dominate the landscape welcome you. It offers a tropical climate year round and endless sea and sun while being close to cities like Recife and Salvador as well the Amazon.
The school's philosophy is to work hard to learn a lot while also enjoying yourself. Classes are small (5 students max) and taught 95% in Portuguese. All teachers are native and experienced instructors and trained in the school's own approach to language teaching. They are genuinely interested in your progress and will do everything they can to ensure your satisfaction. They come from various parts of Brazil to expose you to different accents, expressions and styles of teaching.
After school and on weekends, there are a variety of activities and excursions available to you. And don't forget Maceió Carnival in February and March with Samba clubs and typical music of the Northeast. In December, there is the Maceió Fest which is the "warm-up" to the national Brazilian Carnival celebration. People from all over the northeast come to celebrate this 4-day street party. You will find the true Brazilian openness and friendliness will help you relax and feel happy during your stay.
