The School
A unique learning experience for full immersion of the language of your choice living with and being taught by your own private tutor. Students will live and study in your tutor's house so there is no traveling to and from school everyday. You will join your tutor and their family in their daily life and will benefit from at least one excursion per week chosen by the tutor without extra charge. You will not be led page by page through a textbook, but be living the language you are studying through lessons, conversation and experience. Mealtime conversation, visits, television and social contacts are all in the language you are studying and with people of that country. Living with your teacher means that you will be guided and corrected not only during the lessons but at all times when the teacher and student are together. You have the choice of 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours off teaching per week and can stay as many weeks as you like.
Every area is supervised by a Local Organizer whose job is to monitor the progress of each student and make sure his experience is happy and successful.
If students wish to choose specific activities themselves, they may do so if available. Activities may consist of excursions or sports accompanied by an adult member of the host family. Charges for excursions or sport time are the same as the teaching rate. Students can therefore substitute 1 hour of activities for each hour of lessons that they wish provided that this is arranged at the time the stay is booked. In addition, the student must pay for all expenses including entrance fees and bus or train tickets for both themselves and the person accompanying them. Similarly, in the case of sports such as tennis, golf or horseback riding, students must pay for themselves and the family member accompanying them. The student is free to choose excursions or sports that please them, and we will try to accommodate your requests as best we can. There is also an option to have 2 students together or . Given enough notice, we can pair a teacher who shares your interests whether it's fishing, football, the cinema, art or theater. Some of our teachers have specialized areas of expertise such as medicine, law, marketing, engineering.
Parents also have the choice of extra supervision called Cocooning for younger students or those who want their children never to be left alone in the house at any time. A supplement is charged according to the country chosen. The standard course does not obligate the teacher or a member of the family to spend all their time with the student. The teacher will of course spend a reasonable amount of time with the student as they would with any friend who came to stay. This closer supervision option guarantees that the teacher or an adult member of the family is around at all times, but does not guarantee specific activities.
There is a Business & Executive program with private bathroom included designed for executives who need to improve their professional language skills and who required specialized vocabulary with technical terms in areas such as medicine, engineering, law, computing, architecture, tourism, etc. Families are carefully selected to match the students needs and we try to provide a teacher of similar professional background to the student.
