Our Policy:
ENROLLMENT: It is recommended that you apply at least 6 weeks or more prior to your desired start date to secure your spot. Some programs fill up quickly, so the sooner we receive your application, the sooner we can send you a confirmation for the program of your choice. To apply, you must forward a completed and signed application with your application fee of one hundred and seventy five dollars ($175.00). For Live 'n Learn the fee is two hundered and twenty five ($225.00). This fee applies to Language Liaisons administrative costs and is not refundable under any circumstances unless the program of your choice cannot accommodate you at the time you wish to attend. Your payment can be made in the form of a cashiers check or money order; or Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover (credit cards are subject to a 5% surcharge). NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED.
PAYMENT: Your full payment is due 4 weeks prior to your start date. If payment is received less than four weeks, your enrollment may be voided or subject to a late fee.
ADDITIONAL FEES: Expedited enrollment is available for an additional fee of $150. Language Liaison® makes all payments 4 weeks before start day by way of bank transfer. A portion of this exchange is passed on to each student ($45.00) and appears on your invoice. Any changes to your program within two weeks of the scheduled start date may be subject to an administration fee of $75. Please bear in mind that each language school also has its own policies and additional late fees may be incurred for changes as well. A 5% handling fee will apply to credit card payments.
INSURANCE: Language Liaison® offers medical and travel insurance which appears on your final invoice and is optional. We highly recommend that you have adequate coverage.
PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel your program two to four weeks before start date you will be charged a 25% penalty; two weeks to 24 hours before arrival: 50%; 24 hours or less: There is NO refund. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance (referenced above). We will consider applying your application fee for enrollment the following year on a case by case basis.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Most programs include a choice of lodging options. Regarding family homestays: more and more, the tradition in traditional family homestays is disappearing. You may find that your homestay includes a single person living alone or a single parent with children. We strongly encourage a family homestay experience as it will add tremendous value and a new dimension to your language learning program. Once you are confirmed with a homestay family and want to change, an alteration fee may apply.
NATIONAL AND RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS: If the school is officially closed, it is not required to reschedule classes which fall on national or religious holidays. These dates are usually listed on our website and factored into the price. Language Liaison is not responsible for circumstances beyond their control changes in programs due to war, terrorism, strikes, inclement weather or other
CLASS SCHEDULE: The school reserves the right to reduce the number of classes if there are not a minimum number of students.
LIABILITY: Neither Language Liaison® nor its partner schools will accept liability for any loss or damage to personal property or personal injury incurred by students while studying/participating in a Language Liaison program. Exposures include any accommodation in conjunction with the program; participating in activities in the program, or traveling to and from the foreign country; accident and/or sickness without readily available medical facilities, the forces of nature, travel in the air, travel on the ground, terrorism, and acts of war. By signing below you are assuming all these risks and agree to indemnify Language Liaison, their officers, directors and employees harmless for any and all liability that may arise in connection with your participation in Language Liaisons programs outside of the United States.
